How to Choose an Escape Room
So you’ve decided to try out an escape room but have no idea how to go about choosing where to go? Although more resources are becoming available to help, it can still be a challenge to make an informed decision. Here are some insights we’ve gathered from our customers and our own experience in choosing which escape rooms to consider.
Start with Google reviews. Reviews for escape rooms tend to skew high so keep in mind that there is a huge difference between a location with an average of 4.5 stars versus one with 5.0. It is also recommended to read a few reviews to ascertain what sets a particular location apart from others.
Try Morty. Morty is a free app used by escape room enthusiasts to find, track, and review escape rooms. Unlike reviews on Google, these reviews are typically written by those who have experienced many escape rooms and therefore have seen a wide spectrum of rooms.
Look for actual pictures. It is also recommended that you look for actual pictures or video (rather than stock photos) of the rooms on the facility’s Google business page or website. While most escape room locations understandably don’t want to give too much away to avoid spoiling the experience, quality locations will give you at least a few actual glimpses into their rooms.
With just a little research, you’ll find it much easier to make your escape room search a successful one.
